THE Singapore and Taiwan stock exchanges will aim to build a trading bridge between the two markets, the bourses announced on Tuesday.
The aim is to offer members of each exchange an efficient, cost-effective and direct way to buy and sell stocks listed on the other exchange, Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) said in a joint statement. Both parties will ink a letter of intent on those goals.
“International investors keen on Greater China opportunities are coming to Singapore and Taiwan because we are leading offshore renminbi centres,” SGX chief executive Magnus Bocker said in a statement.
“There is therefore potential for cooperation in infrastructure and other areas so as to better serve these investors.”
